| A hand colored engraving of the Penn State Campus circa 1910. This engraving depicts a panoramic view of the entire campus. It appears to be drawn at a high altitude of about 300 feet. Because there were no elevations available to the artist, there is some speculation that he worked from a hot air balloon! | Artist Andrew Wyeth is an American realist painter referred to as “painter of the people”. He is one of the most celebrated living artist in history. During his sixty year career, Wyeth grew from realism to surrealistic expressionism, to a combination of both. Andrew Wyeth has no formal training, diploma, or college degree. | |
